  • In March 2022, I publish a piece of creative nonfiction (scientific storytelling), Of Icicles and Ice Sheets, in Agate Magazine.

  • In April 2022, I gave a talk on the geology of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness for Friends of the Boundary Waters. You can view a recording here.

  • In July 2022, I published a “prose poem” about Wisconsin’s glacial history as part of Layered in Time, alongside Marica Bjornerud and Eric Carson.

  • In July 2023, I led a field trip with College of Menominee Nation that explored “all” of Wisconsin’s geologic history – from 1.8-billion-year-old Precambrian rocks to 14,000-year-old glacial deposits.

  • In July 2023, I gave a public lecture on Wisconsin’s glacial geology for the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters. You can view a recording here.

  • In September 2023, I led a field trip with the Cable Natural History Museum about the glacial history of the Lake Superior region (see photo below).

  • In October 2023, I participated in the ComSciCon-SciWri workshop at the NASW ScienceWriters23 Conference in Boulder, Colorado. As part of that, I wrote this story about mistrust and miscommunication during the East Palestine, Ohio toxic train derailment.
